The Parahyangan Alumni Day (PAD 2016) is the premiere event hosted by the Directorate General of Public Relations of the Students Presidency/Direktorat Jendral Hubungan Masyarakat Lembaga Kepresidenan Mahasiswa (LKM) and the Parahyangan Catholic University Alumni Association /Ikatan Alumni (IKA).
“PAD 2016 is entitled ‘Together in Memories, Giving Meaning to the Future’. The purpose of this event is to nurture a good relationship between students and alumni“, according to Sarah Lucia as the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of PAD 2016 when interviewed on the objective of the event.
PAD 2016 began with a talk show session with UNPAR alumni who are actively involved in politics, business, and entertainment on Friday (12/2). Unquestionably, UNPAR has competent alumni in numerous lines of work; take for example the speakers of the PAD 2016 talk show such as: Maruarar Sirait (Member of the House of Representative/DPR RI), Yunarto Widjaja (CEO Charta Politica), Drs. Boedi Siswanto Basuki (Owner of Yogya group). Baron Suprayogi (musician) and Yosi Mokalu (singer).
For three weeks, the talk show was fiery with attractive themes like: “Making a career in politics? Fear Not! /Berkarir di dunia Politik? Siapa Takut!” and “Find Your Passion and Make a Living from It!”. PAD 2016 was concluded on Saturday (27/2) with music performances by alumni and students, food bazaar, games and the declaration of “Alumni Giving Back”.
The climax of PAD 2016 that was held in the parking area of the Rectorate building of UNPAR Ciumbuleuit Campus was filled with collections of photograph “Wall of Memory” since UNPAR was established.
“I’m really delighted to join PAD 2016 because I haven’t seen my friends in a long time. I did not tell them that I am coming here today, I want it to be a surprise.” According to Andreas Pramudianto, an alumnus of the Faculty of Law UNPAR (1991) who is currently a lecturer as well as an International Environmental Law Researcher at the University of Indonesia.
It is hoped that PAD 2016 as the premiere university level alumni gathering event can be held again in the years to come, thus, the alumni and the students will always have a moment to “Go back to Campus” , a place where UNPAR alumni and students can relate well.
