Quoting a line from a song by the band Superman is Dead ‘Young, Different, and Dangerous/Muda, Beda, dan Berbahaya’ apparently has led a profound impact on Marcella Morgen Wiria, an alumna of the Faculty of Industrial Technology Parahyangan Catholic University year 2009 (FTI UNPAR).
Gloria is the CEO of Glow for Indonesia – a social community operated by young people all over Indonesia. The dedication she has given to social, social business and youth development issues has made Gloria an International Peace Ambassador by the Eubios Etika Institute and International Peace and Development Etika Centre (IPDCE). In the same year, she was chosen as one of the top 32 Inspirational Youth 2015 by the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA)- along with some young talented artist such as Vini Aldiano and Maudy Ayunda.
To reach such an achievement, of course there was a high price that had to be paid. The story of her struggle was discussed in the Alumni’s Talk show “Think Differently Since University/Berpikir Beda Sejak Kuliah” held by the bureau of student affairs and alumni (BKA UNPAR) on Wednesday 24/2).
According to Gloria, in order to become a ‘different and dangerous’ student, we should ask ourselves ‘what makes me different/Apa yang membuat saya beda? And why do I deserve high salary?” starting from that question, Gloria asked the students to re-discover their life passions and vision. Nevertheless those two keys have to go hand in hand with achievement, work, contribution and imagination/dreams.
“all dreams are feasible, is a matter of realizing it” as emphasized by Gloria who just published her work in a book entitled the Untold Stories of College Life.
At the end of the Alumni’s Talk, Gloria conveyed her final message “maintain your enthusiasm by challenging yourself!
