Unpar Held a Theoretical Physics Conference of Indonesia

The diversity of the universe phenomenon is a challenge for scientists and academics to solve using science. One of them, through various paradigms in the field of physics. Along with the development of science and technology, the role of theoretical physicists is becoming increasingly important in unlocking the secrets of this vast universe. The meeting of physicists is a means of exchange of knowledge between academics.

On Tuesday (1/8), the Parahyangan Catholic University Physics Study Program (Unpar), in collaboration with the Theoretical Physics Group of Indonesia (GFTI) and Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia/Indonesian Science Institute (LIPI) held a meeting of theoretical physicists at the Conference on Theoretical Physics and Nonlinear Phenomena (CTPNP), with the theme “Ripples of Knowledge in Our Vast Universe” This event is the 14th meeting, as well as being the first to be held at Unpar, organized by The Consortium of Physical and Physical Conference on Theoretical Physics.

While opening the conference, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Unpar, Paulus Cahyono Tjiang, Ph.D expressed his gratitude for the trust of various parties so that CTPNP activity can be held on Unpar’s Campus. He also expressed his views on the extremely rapid development of theoretical physics, due to the increasingly sophisticated and accurate facilities and technologies. However, this has not been able to answer all the questions that exist in the universe. The issue of mass has gradually been revealed, but phenomena such as “Dark Matter” and “Extradimension” are still waiting to be revealed by the world’s theoretical physicists.

The first speaker at the conference was Professor Pantur Silaban, a senior physicist from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), who presented “Dynamical Laws in General Relativity”. In his presentation, he reminded the importance of studying the history of science, as well as improving and maintaining the ability to count/calculate manually, to fellow theoretical physicists.

Next, Tasrief Surungan Ph.D presented his research results in the field of “Non-Canonical Spin Glasse”, which has become a highlighted debate among theoretical physicists around the world. The last keynote speaker omes from Unpar’s Physics Study Program. Reinard Primulando, Ph.D., who discussed new possibilities related to the use of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC)’s second volume, through his presentation, “The Status and Prospectof New Physics at the LHC Run 2” .

The panel discussion sessions were followed by conference participants to introduce and discuss their latest research in the field of Theoretical Physics. A total of 21 physicists from various universities and scientific institutions throughout Indonesia submitted their research results in three parallel sessions. The various fields of theoretical physics include Astrophysics, Computational Physics, Condensed Matter Physics , Gravity and Cosmology, Mathematical Physics, Nonlinear Physics, Nuclear Phenomenology and Particles, and finally String Theory .
