Unpar Students Won First Prize and Special Mention Award at The 2016 International Tropical Architecture Design Singapore

The 2016 International Tropical Architecture Design (ITAD) hosted by the Singapore Building and Construction Authority (BCA), Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) in Singapore was held once again. The event which is a part of the annual Singapore Green Building Week and the International Green Building Conference (IGBC) focuses on tropical green architecture and sustainable building design solutions.

In the competition that was followed by 131 works from 15 countries, Architecture Study Program of Parahyangan Catholic University (Unpar)’s  student Maria Vanessa, won the first prize and Honorable Mention with her project entitled “The Nexus Project”, while Timothy Vittorio with Dennis Cahya Indra, with their project entitled “Green Methamorph Project” won the Special Mention Award.

ITAD 2016 is a competition that searches for innovation as well as sustainable design solutions with a grand theme of “The Future of Green Tropical Living” for the urban city chosen by the participants. The completed project has to be able to accommodate and cater for 300 households of all age groups. The project has to be adaptable to climate changes as well as support a user-friendly environment, where human inter-relations and integration and inter-communal spirits can occur in the built public space.
