On Friday (2/12), the Institute of Postgraduate Studies/Graduate School of Parahyangan Catholic University (Unpar) held a closing activity for the Refresher Course themed Entrepreneurial University Transformation in South-East Asia . The event that has been taking place since November 21, 2016, is the result of a collaboration between Unpar with the Maastricht School of Management (MSM), the Netherlands.
In the past year, the Institute of Postgraduate Studies of Unpar organized a similar program, namely Business Coaching attended by participants from Unpar. In this Refresher Course , the participants are alumni of Nuffic-(those who received a scholarship from the Dutch government. The number of participants who passed the selection were 20 people out of a total of 70 participants who had registered.
Unpar was chosen by Nuffic as one of the universities that develop and nurture the entrepreneurial spirit. This year, Unpar is the only university in Asia to get the project to organize a Refresher Course for Nuffic, an organization providing scholarships from the Dutch government.
“Unpar Has been considered the right institution in Indonesia to hold the so called the entrepreneurial university. Because in some of our study programs, entrepreneurship courses are offered and the fact that entrepreneurial activities are encouraged to be a priority. For example, in management, and in business administration”, explained Sandra Sunanto, Ph.D., Coordinator Project-Refresher Course (Unpar).
The Refresher Course is one of the projects funded by Nuffic. This project is a form of cooperation between institutions in the Netherlands and institutions in Indonesia. The agenda in these activities include work visits , discussions , and presentation assignments of participants related to the theme that has been determined.
“The basic knowledge- was provided by MSM. We from Unpar added the practical insight to it “, she added when asked about the form of collaboration between Unpar-MSM for the Refresher Course .
Sandra who was interviewed by the Unpar Publication Team during the event said the participants had come from Indonesia itself, India, Vietnam, Bhutan, and the Philippines. “For Unpar it’s obviously very important, yes. Then we can have a collaborative network in the future with them. The participants mostly came from universities”, she concluded.
The activity is expected to enhance the knowledge of academics regarding entrepreneurial universities and subsequently embodied in an entrepreneurial transformation plan .
“(I) Hope that in the future, we can keep this up . We’ll continue the Nuffic project . Then, I think anyway, we could have a project that is bigger, not only organizing course “, said Sandra who currently serves as the Head of the Doctoral Program in Economics and a Master of Management, Institute of Postgraduate Studies.
