Bandung, (PR),-
Parahyangan Catholic University wishes to be consistently known as a campus that is academically leading and persistent in upholding basic values. In order to stay true to its uniqueness, Unpar requires cooperation from multiple parties.
Currently, Unpar ranks 25th at the 2015 national level, in addition, it ranks 37th at the university research performance in 2013-2015. “we are among the oldest private universities in Indonesia. we require plenty of support to keep on contributing to the field of education,” according to Unpar’s Rector Mangadar Situmorang during the Unpar Go Beyond activity last week at the Novotel on Cihampelas street.
Mangadar said that Unpar comes into being for the purpose of educating the young generation through higher education, and that maintaining high quality academic tradition can only be achieved through cooperation. ”higher education development at Unpar can come to fruition with the support of cooperating schools,” he added.
The Vice Rector of Research, Community Service, and Cooperation Budi Husodo Bisowarno stated that Unpar along with other universities will face a great challenge. This challenge relates to the educational service provision in the global market. “Don’t be surprised if there are schools and educators from abroad,” added Budi.
Nevertheless, Unpar’s stance is to maintain a humane academic community. In addition, Unpar also develops local potential into the global level for the sake of improving human dignity and integrity of nature creation.
Budi also stated that with the achievements Unpar has, hopefully Unpar graduates can be recognized overseas. Especially taking into account the number of Unpar graduates amounting to 60.000 people who have worked all over the world.
Therefore, Budi stated that Unpar has been trying to improve the accreditation target. A total of 17 Bachelor’s degree programs have been accredited “A” with only the Diploma 3 program of Management that requires re-accreditation.
In terms of new study programs, Budi added that they are currently in design. After the postgraduate program of International Relations was opened, the Business Administration Management will soon follow suit.
Budi then stated, that Unpar has acknowledged unexpected career opportunities in the digital era. Students have to be able to learn quickly and adapt to changes, “otherwise, they will be left behind.” (Dewiyantine) ***
