One of the most important roles of a university is to provide scholarships that can act as a means of yielding leading individuals, who are useful for developing the nation and country. Qualified leading individuals enable our nation to emulate other nations. The existence of scholarships enable leading individuals to study at the higher education level and to become experts and professionals in their respective fields.
Since its establishment in 1955, Parahyangan Catholic University (Unpar) has striven to facilitate prospective students and students to attain the best education and (to attain) the highest possible level of education. Through Badan Penggalang Dana Lestari (BPDL), Unpar has consistently nurtured relationships with numerous institutions, focusing the provision and awarding of scholarships to high-flying students.
Scholarships are given for a variety of reasons such as to support the high-achieving students as well as to push and to support students to make a positive impact, not only for themselves but also their surroundings. Scholarships are primarily given to the economically challenged.
Specifically, Unpar has now offered its Program Beasiswa Unggulan Program Magister,
as proof of Unpar’s concern for its students. This scholarship program aims at helping leading fresh graduates holding a bachelors’ degree from Unpar to be able to continue to the master’s level.
As reflected in the name of this scholarship, which is ‘leading’, it is meant to recruit leading and high-achieving students who are interested in continuing their study in the master’s degree programs at Unpar, that are relevant to their bachelor’s degree; provide opportunities for Unpar alumni with financial limitations to continue their study at the master’s level, as well as improving the quality of the post-graduate programs both in terms of quality and quantity.

Those who wish to apply or participate in the selection of this Beasiswa Unggulan Program Magister should fulfill several requirements, namely: a minimum final GPA of 3.25, a minimum TOEFL score of 550, and a letter of recommendation from the academic councilor/ lecturer involved, as approved by the Head of Bachelor’s degree Study Program.

Indeed, this leading program will be extremely beneficial for students, because within 3 or 5.5 years of study time they will obtain both the bachelor’s and the master’s degree at Unpar.
A total of 8 choices of master’s degree programs are available at Unpar, namely: a Master’s program in Management, a Master’s program in Law, a Master’s program in Civil Engineering, a Master’s program in Architecture, a Master’s program in Social Sciences, a Master’s program in Theology, a Master’s program in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s program in Industrial Engineering. The accreditation and credibility of Unpar Masters Program which falls under the auspices of the School of Postgraduate Studies Unpar is without a single doubt high. Many alumni of the School of Postgraduate Studies are successful in their field after graduating from Unpar.
This is in keeping with the vision and mission of the School of Postgraduate Studies namely, to create a humane academic community at the postgraduate level with the spirit of compassion in truth for the sake of developing potentials and local wisdom to international level to improve human dignity and the integrity of creation.
The vision is also in keeping with Unpar’s vision, Bakuning Hyang Mrih Guna Santyaya Bhakti, to produce graduates with good competence in their choice of study fields that have leading personality traits, good insight, are open-minded, and possess the spirit to dedicate themselves to society’s needs, especially those who are marginalized as well as other visions.
The provision of scholarships has made Unpar a leading university, in addition to showing its concern for the continuity of its students’ education as well as its responsibilities to produce competent and competitive graduates.
