On Wednesday (24/8), Unpar once again received a visit from high school students on Unpar’s main Ciumbuleuit campus. This time the around year 12 students of SMAK Penabur Indah, Bekasi, had the opportunity to gain more insights into higher education, especially at Unpar.
At the beginning of the visit, the students were guided on a tour of Unpar campus to familiarize them with the current situation of Unpar. The event continued in the building 9 auditorium (the Faculty of Economics). Here, students received explanations concerning the enrollment process, existing faculties and Study programs, as well as numerous facilities and opportunities for scholarships for Unpar students. In addition to receiving a clear description of Unpar, they also had the opportunity to meet their high school alumni that are currently studying at Unpar.
The visit received great appreciation from the visiting teachers and students. One of the accompanying teachers, Tjong Handaya, claimed that such activity is often held by the school. “the purpose is to give our students better insight” he then added that Unpar was chosen because Unpar is for being a private university with good reputation in Bandung. In addition both Unpar and SMAK Penabur Harapan Indah are both located in the West Java region.
This activity is a form of cooperation between Unpar and senior high schools. It is hoped that the activity will give various insights on the importance of higher education, especially for senior high school year 12 students, so they can make the right choice and prepare themselves for a higher education level.
